Spiritual Manhood requires work, (James 2:20) “But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?” Faith is given to every man freely, yet it takes work through prayer, study, witnessing, and practical application of the Word of God to have increase and fulfillment in Christ. Spiritual Manhood helps you to gain spiritual strength to stand up for what is right and against those things that harmful to you, family, friends, and society. A spiritual man learns not only how to please God through his Faith, but also through his obedience to God’s will. He comes to a knowledge of truth that it is God in whom one must trust for his total needs to be met. (Hebrews 11:6) “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
In this life you are challenged to do more and to be more than what you may feel that you can bare – yet, there are also times that you may feel like giving up because of the weight that press’s the very life out of you while trying to meet all of the goals that you feel that you must complete. I want to help you to see that your existence and ability to stand up under the pressures of life that seem to have dumped so much on you- is not the end but the beginning of great opportunity to get to know and to trust the love and power of God almighty for your success. Paul said in (1 Corinthians 10:13) “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
The weight that you bear is a result of temptation. The very things that come to challenge your – mind, body and soul are are designed by the hands of someone else and are specifically formulated to test you based on your strength or weakness of faith. Paul points out that temptations can and will overtake you at times, and that it is a common thing that happens to man. Notice that the word “common” in its Greek form is κονος “Koinos.” In the New Testament and in the classics, it means “what is public, general, and universal. Sometimes the things that a man has to deal with in life may come in a public way, or general or as a universal challenge – yet, Paul say’s “but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” Don’t quit, don’t give up no matter how hard it seams or how long it takes – look for the door that God has created right in the very midst of the thing that’s weighing in on you, and take another step toward your way out!
